Tripura has begun the self-enumeration phase of Census of India 2027, marking the start of a key public data collection exercise in the state. The launch took place on Friday at Lok Bhavan, where Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu inaugurated the process.
Setting the tone for the campaign, the Governor completed his own details online as part of the opening event. His participation was presented as an example for residents as the state moves forward with the digital self-enumeration process.
According to the announcement, the self-enumeration window will remain open across Tripura until July 31. The exercise is expected to allow people to submit their information directly through the official system as part of preparations for Census 2027.
The launch signals Tripura's formal entry into this stage of the national census process. With the state administration now rolling out the online exercise, attention will be on public participation during the self-enumeration period.
