Trinnov and Ascendo have introduced a new home cinema bass technology centered on the latest version of Cylindrical WaveForming. The companies say the system is designed to tackle one of the biggest low-frequency challenges in dedicated theater spaces: standing waves, especially in square rooms.
According to the announcement, the updated approach focuses on improving bass behavior in rooms where low frequencies can build up unevenly and create problem areas. That issue can make some seats sound overly heavy while others lose impact, so a solution aimed at more controlled and consistent bass is likely to attract attention from high-end home cinema buyers and installers.
The technology is set to be demonstrated at the upcoming Audio Advice Live 2026 show. The demo will use multiple Ascendo THE18 Sub Passive Vented subwoofers, giving attendees a chance to hear how the latest Cylindrical WaveForming setup performs in a real showcase environment.
For Trinnov and Ascendo, the launch highlights a continued push toward more advanced low-frequency management in premium home theaters.
