The United States paused its attacks on Iran for a second straight day on Sunday, according to the report, while Tehran said it had also stopped its own attacks. The parallel pause pointed to a possible opening for diplomacy after recent military tensions.
Efforts were said to be continuing to bring Washington and Tehran back to negotiations. While no immediate breakthrough was described, the halt by both sides suggested that officials were still trying to keep the confrontation from escalating further.
The Pentagon did not immediately respond to questions on Sunday, leaving uncertainty around the US position and how long the pause might last. Iran’s statement that it had also stopped attacks added to signs of a temporary standstill rather than active fighting.
Even so, the situation remained fragile. With talks still the focus, attention stayed on whether the second straight day without attacks could create enough space for the US and Iran to return to direct or indirect discussions.
