Foxconn is shifting part of its infrastructure away from VMware and toward Singapore-based hyperconverged vendor Arcrfra, according to an Asia technology roundup. The move reportedly covers some GPU virtualization tasks and also includes replacing VMware in certain remote deployments.
The change is notable because Foxconn is one of the region’s largest manufacturers, and its infrastructure choices can signal where enterprise demand is heading. Using a newer hyperconverged platform for AI-related workloads suggests the company is looking for alternatives as organizations reassess virtualization, cost and flexibility.
The report indicates Arcrfra is being used for selected workloads rather than a wholesale, company-wide swap. Even so, Foxconn’s decision adds to the broader industry trend of enterprises exploring non-VMware options for specialized environments such as remote operations and AI infrastructure.
