Nigeria's National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, or NDLEA, has arrested a Lagos businessman over an alleged attempt to send cocaine to the United Kingdom. The suspect was identified as 55-year-old Onuigbo Chinedu.
The agency said the cocaine weighed 3.30 kilograms and was concealed inside foodstuff cartons. The report indicates the drugs were hidden within the walls of the cartons as part of an export shipment bound for the UK.
The case adds to ongoing NDLEA operations targeting international drug trafficking routes linked to Nigeria. Interceptions involving concealed narcotics in packaged goods remain a major focus for enforcement authorities as traffickers continue to use everyday items to avoid detection.
