A new issue-based campaign in New Delhi is reportedly calling for a no-ethanol fuel option under the banner of the “E20 Janta Party.” The demand has gained notice after the recent visibility of the Cockroach Janta Party, or CJP, in India’s political conversation.
According to the report, the push by the E20 Janta Party has been inspired by CJP’s successful campaign, which became closely associated with pressure during the NEET paper controversy. That episode also drew attention because it was linked to the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as education minister.
The latest campaign appears to focus on one clear demand: giving consumers a choice to buy fuel without ethanol blending. In that sense, the no-ethanol option is being presented as a public policy issue rather than just a technical fuel debate.
