In his debut message, Huang shared a letter tied to open-weight AI, signaling where he wants to place attention as debates over AI rules continue in the US.
According to the report, the letter was signed by NVIDIA and 24 other companies. Its central message urged US policymakers not to place restrictions on open-weight AI, a topic that has become increasingly important as governments and technology firms weigh how AI systems should be developed, shared and regulated.
The move stands out because Huang's first appearance on the platform was not centered on GeForce products, drivers or Blackwell-related news. Instead, it highlighted a broader industry position on AI access and policy, suggesting NVIDIA sees open-weight models as a major strategic issue beyond its chips and consumer-facing products.
