A homebrew developer has shown that Sony's PS Vita can still handle modern game access by streaming Xbox Cloud Gaming. Instead of trying to run newer titles locally, the project uses cloud streaming to turn the aging handheld into a device for playing current games.

The notable part of the workaround is that it does not rely on emulation. According to the report, the method streams games from Microsoft's cloud service to the PS Vita, which means the handheld is acting more like a display and input device than a machine running the games itself.

That approach highlights why older hardware can remain useful long after its original lifespan. The PS Vita launched in 2011, yet modders continue finding ways to connect it to modern services and expand what it can do beyond Sony's original plans.

The experiment also reflects the broader popularity of gaming handhelds. While new portable systems dominate the market, this kind of mod shows there is still strong interest in keeping classic devices relevant through homebrew tools and creative software workarounds.
