At least six people were reported dead after Ukraine and Russia traded missile and drone strikes, with some of the dead in Kyiv and others killed in attacks elsewhere in Ukraine.
According to the report, Russian ballistic missiles hit Kyiv early Sunday. The strikes sparked fires in the capital and wounded at least three civilians, while two people were killed there.
Later attacks in other parts of Ukraine pushed the overall death toll higher. The latest wave of strikes underscored the continuing danger facing civilians as aerial attacks hit both the capital and other regions.
The renewed barrage came amid ongoing exchanges between Ukraine and Russia involving missiles and drones. Emergency crews were responding to damage and casualties as officials assessed the impact of the overnight and early morning strikes.
