American rookie Jackson Koivun claimed his first PGA Tour title with a composed finish at the 3M Open, holding off world-class competition from Scottie Scheffler. Koivun ended the tournament at 25 under par, three shots clear of Scheffler on 22 under.
The result marks a major breakthrough for Koivun, who was able to stay in front under pressure and complete a maiden PGA Tour win. Beating Scheffler, one of the strongest names in the field, made the victory even more notable.
Behind the top two, Denny McCarthy, Brian Harman, and C. Phillips shared third place on 20 under, alongside Hideki Matsuyama. The closing leaderboard underlined the strength of the field, but Koivun remained in control when it mattered most.
Selected names further down the standings included Seamus Power and Gary Woodland at 17 under, with M. Kim also listed among the chasing pack. Even with several established players in contention, the week belonged to Koivun as he turned a strong position into a memorable first PGA Tour success.
