Chinese AI company Moonshot has introduced a new open-source large language model called Kimi K3, positioning it as a major step forward in the global artificial intelligence race. The release is drawing attention because the company says the model delivers capabilities close to leading systems from Anthropic and OpenAI.
According to Moonshot, Kimi K3 was trained on 2.8 trillion parameters, the internal weights that help shape how an AI system responds to prompts and questions.
