Nvidia is reportedly in talks to support OpenAI's planned Ohio data center effort with financing of up to $250 billion. The backing would help OpenAI lease a massive 10-gigawatt project in southern Ohio.

The development is said to be led by SoftBank's energy subsidiary, linking major AI and infrastructure players to one of the largest proposed computing projects mentioned in the report. If completed, the site would represent a huge expansion of data center capacity aimed at supporting AI workloads.

For Nvidia, the discussions highlight how chipmakers are becoming more deeply tied to the financing and buildout of AI infrastructure, not just the supply of processors. For OpenAI, the arrangement could help secure long-term access to the power and space needed for future model training and deployment.

While the talks were described as ongoing, the report points to the scale of investment now being discussed around AI data centers in the US. The Ohio project underscores how demand for advanced computing is driving increasingly large financing plans, energy commitments, and partnerships across the sector.
