Moscow and the surrounding region were reportedly targeted in a large Ukrainian drone attack, with Meduza describing the assault as involving almost 400 drones. The reported strike drew attention because it reached areas close to the Russian capital and caused damage to residential property.
According to Moscow region Governor Andrey Vorobyov, one drone hit an apartment building on Zemskaya Street in Chekhov, a city outside Moscow. Local officials said the incident damaged two apartments.
Chekhov Mayor Mikhail Sobakin said no one was injured in the building strike. While the physical damage appeared limited in that location, the report underlined the risks posed when drones reach populated areas in the Moscow region.
The reported scale of the operation suggests continuing pressure on territory around Moscow as drone warfare remains a key element of the wider Russia-Ukraine conflict. Even when casualties are avoided, such attacks can disrupt daily life and raise security concerns far from the front line.
