The World Endurance Championship has changed the closing stretch of its 2026 calendar, with the final two rounds moved from Qatar and Bahrain to Barcelona and Monza. Organisers said the switch was made because of the situation in the Gulf region.
Under the revised plan, races that had been scheduled for Qatar and Bahrain will now take place in Spain and Italy instead. That means Barcelona and Monza will host the championship’s last two events of the season.
The decision alters the planned finish to the 2026 WEC campaign while keeping those rounds on the calendar in new locations. It also marks a notable change for a series that had been due to end the year with two events in the Gulf.
Organisers announced the update on Tuesday, confirming that the original Qatar and Bahrain rounds would no longer go ahead as planned. The move gives teams and fans a new European ending to the 2026 World Endurance Championship season.
