Xinemarte, the immersive cinematic art platform created by Los Angeles-based creative technology company SQNXR, has made its first appearance in Malaysia. The debut took place in Kuala Lumpur as a special program during the recently concluded 9th Malaysia International Film Festival, also known as MIFFest.

The featured presentation was The Room Remembers, which marked the platform’s local introduction. From the available details, the project was positioned as part of MIFFest’s wider programming, bringing an immersive and art-driven format into a festival setting better known for traditional film screenings.

Xinemarte’s arrival in Malaysia highlights growing interest in experiences that blend cinema, visual art and technology. By bringing the platform to MIFFest, the event added a different kind of screen-based work to its lineup and underscored how festivals are continuing to explore new ways for audiences to engage with moving-image storytelling.

For SQNXR, the Malaysia launch also expands the international reach of Xinemarte. With The Room Remembers serving as the platform’s entry point at MIFFest, the presentation introduced local festivalgoers to a format that sits between cinematic exhibition and immersive art.
