Taupin’s work is closely tied to albums such as Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Tumbleweed Connection, Madman Across the Water, and Captain Fantastic & The Brown Dirt Cowboy. While he has long been celebrated for his role behind the scenes, the new project marks a fresh chapter centered on his own music rather than only his historic collaboration with Elton John.
Alongside news of the album, Taupin has also revealed that Gary Oldman is making a documentary about his life. That adds another major development to a period in which renewed attention is being paid to Taupin’s career, influence, and creative legacy beyond the songs that made him famous.
