Focus Features has picked up North America and Latin America rights to Elsinore, the new film directed by Simon Stone and starring Andrew Scott. The deal brings the Studiocanal title into Focus Features' release pipeline for a fall theatrical rollout.
According to the announced plan, Elsinore will open in limited release on Nov. 20. From there, the film is set to widen over the Thanksgiving holiday and continue expanding throughout December, giving it a gradual release pattern during a busy moviegoing season.
The acquisition adds another high-profile project to Focus Features' lineup and places Andrew Scott at the center of a carefully timed awards-season corridor. With Simon Stone directing, the film now has a distributor and release calendar in place across major markets in the Americas.
While only early distribution details have been disclosed, the Nov. 20 start date and holiday expansion make clear that Focus Features is positioning Elsinore for a sustained theatrical run rather than a one-week launch.
