The sit-in by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad outside Jaisalmer Kotwali continued for a second day, keeping the focus on a dispute over permission for a Tiranga Yatra in the city. The protest has turned into a larger confrontation over how police handled the matter.
According to the report, ABVP members have accused the police of manhandling workers during the controversy. The student organisation is also pressing for action against local police officials, including a demand for the suspension of the station house officer and a head constable.
The issue appears to centre on permission for the proposed Tiranga Yatra, with the disagreement now spilling into a prolonged public demonstration. As the sit-in stretches into another day, the dispute has added to tensions between the organisation and the local administration in Jaisalmer.
