Two government schoolteachers in Rajasthan's Ajmer have been suspended after three girls alleged sexual harassment, according to the report. The case surfaced after a good touch-bad touch awareness program, following which complaints were lodged against the teachers.
The report says three FIRs have been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Police are now investigating the allegations, which include claims of abuse as well as threats.
The suspensions indicate immediate administrative action while the criminal probe moves forward. Cases involving school staff and minors are typically handled with added legal safeguards because of the seriousness of POCSO provisions.
The Ajmer govt school harassment case has also drawn attention to the role of awareness programs in helping children report alleged misconduct. Investigators are expected to examine the complaints and related evidence as the case proceeds.
