Meghalaya has added 86 more polling stations as the state’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 moves into its closing stage. Election officials said the exercise is now in its final phase, with only one day left for the house-to-house distribution and digitization of Enumeration Forms.
The update was shared by Chief Electoral Officer Dr BDR Tiwari on Tuesday. The revision process is aimed at updating voter records, and the latest stage focuses on collecting and digitally processing the required forms across the state.
The addition of new polling stations points to ongoing efforts to strengthen election arrangements and improve voter access ahead of future polls. At the same time, the near-completion of the form distribution and digitization drive suggests the revision is approaching a key administrative milestone.
With the final day of field work remaining, officials are expected to complete the last stretch of door-to-door coverage and data entry before the next steps in the electoral roll update process begin.
