Russia is exploring support measures for Wildberries, the country’s largest online retailer, after Ukrainian drone attacks caused damage affecting the company and connected businesses, according to sources cited on Tuesday.
The discussions point to a possible role for state-controlled lender VTB, which is expected to be central to any assistance package under consideration. While the exact form of support was not detailed, the focus appears to be on stabilizing operations after the reported damage.
The move highlights the importance of Wildberries in Russia’s retail and logistics network. Any disruption to a major e-commerce platform can ripple through suppliers, delivery operations and other businesses linked to online sales.
