A 45-year-old man of Ukrainian origin who also holds Irish citizenship has been kept in custody after being accused of passing sensitive Irish Government material to contacts linked to a foreign intelligence agency. The allegations concern a civil servant, placing the case at the center of a serious security and political investigation.
The man was arrested in the departures area of Dublin Airport. Court details indicated he was carrying €5,650 and a one-way ticket when he was stopped, facts that formed part of the background to the latest hearing.
