The Israeli military said its forces uncovered and destroyed an underground Hezbollah command center in southern Lebanon. According to the IDF, the site was a 55-meter-long facility hidden beneath a construction materials factory and located about 300 meters from a UNIFIL position.
The IDF said the operation was carried out by the 401st Brigade Combat Team together with the Yahalom combat engineering unit. The military announced the finding on Wednesday and said the underground route was discovered during operations in southern Lebanon.
Based on the Israeli account, the site functioned as a Hezbollah headquarters built below a civilian industrial location. The proximity to a UNIFIL post is likely to draw added attention as the discovery becomes part of the broader scrutiny of Hezbollah infrastructure in the border area.
