Political figure Dylan Whitelaw has addressed allegations aired during an Independent Commission Against Corruption hearing, where a damaging dossier aimed at a Liberal minister was examined. In evidence, Whitelaw said he is "a devoted husband to a beautiful woman" as the inquiry looked at claims tied to an alleged extramarital affair.
The corruption probe has focused on a so-called dirt sheet that was allegedly used to harm the minister politically. According to the hearing, the material was said to have been circulated at the alleged behest of a disgruntled developer, bringing questions about motive and influence into the spotlight.
On his second day in the witness box, Whitelaw also acknowledged there could be a connection between the detrimental dossier and property developer Jean Nassif. That point added another layer to the inquiry, which is examining how the document was created, promoted and potentially weaponised in a political context.
The hearing has therefore shifted beyond personal allegations to broader questions about political tactics and possible corruption. With the dossier now exposed at the inquiry, attention remains on who was behind it, how it was used, and whether any improper conduct took place.
