Water storage at Maharashtra’s Koyna and Radhanagari dams has climbed further after heavy rainfall increased inflows into both reservoirs. Koyna was reported to be 79% full, while Radhanagari moved close to capacity at 99%.
Officials have begun regulated discharge from the reservoirs as inflows continue. At Koyna, 1,050 cusec of water was being released, while Radhanagari recorded an outflow of 1,400 cusec.
The rising storage levels point to the strong effect of recent rain across the region. Reservoir status is being closely watched as water continues to enter the dams, especially with Radhanagari nearing full capacity.
Alerts have also been issued in connection with the releases, indicating caution for areas that could be affected downstream. With rainfall still shaping reservoir conditions, attention remains on further inflows and any additional changes in outflow management.
