France has issued an expulsion order against Xenia Fedorova, the former head of RT France, in a move tied to accusations that she helped spread Kremlin propaganda in the French media landscape.
According to the French Interior Ministry, the order requiring her removal from the country was signed on Tuesday. The case places renewed attention on France’s response to Russian state-linked media figures since tensions with Moscow sharply escalated.
Fedorova is a well-known Russian television personality and was previously associated with RT France, the French arm of the Russian state-backed broadcaster. The allegation at the center of the case is that she promoted pro-Kremlin messaging while appearing in French media.
She did not immediately respond to a request for comment, according to the report, while her lawyer was cited in the source coverage. The expulsion order marks another sign of how seriously French authorities are treating influence operations and propaganda concerns linked to Russia.
