Apple’s updated Siri for Apple Watch is shaping up to be a major step forward from the older version of the assistant. In testing tied to the watchOS 27 public beta, the newer AI-powered Siri reportedly handled everyday questions much better than the previous Siri experience.

The biggest shift appears to be in how useful the assistant feels on the wrist. Older Siri on Apple Watch has often been criticized for falling back on web-style answers instead of directly helping with a request. Based on the comparison, the revamped version moves beyond that familiar frustration and delivers responses that are more practical in real use.

The head-to-head test involved asking both versions of Siri a range of real-world questions across Apple Watch devices. According to the report, the results were not especially close, with the new assistant standing out as far more capable than the legacy version.

That early performance matters because Siri has long been seen as lagging behind newer AI assistants. If the beta experience holds up, Apple Watch users may finally get a voice assistant that feels less limited and more in line with what people expect from modern AI on wearable devices.
