Little red dots, first identified by NASA's James Webb Space Telescope in 2022, have become one of the more intriguing mysteries in astronomy. These objects appear extremely distant, compact, and unusually red, making them difficult to classify with existing ideas about galaxies and black holes.
A new interpretation suggests that little red dots may mark a temporary black hole phase rather than a completely separate kind of cosmic object.
