Kentucky’s alumni team, La Familia, moved one step closer to a title by defeating JHX Hoops, the Kansas alumni squad, 78-65 in The Basketball Tournament. The win gave the former Wildcats the Alumni Bracket Championship and sent them on to Sunday’s championship game.

The matchup carried plenty of interest because it featured former Kentucky players against former Kansas players, two programs with deep college basketball followings. La Familia controlled enough of the game to finish with a 13-point victory and continue its run.

Archie Goodwin was again highlighted as the key performer for Kentucky’s side. While the trimmed report does not include his full stat line, it makes clear that he played a leading role in the victory and helped power La Familia past JHX Hoops.

For Kentucky fans, the result was another strong showing from a roster made up of former Wildcats. With the Alumni Bracket secured, La Familia now heads into Sunday’s championship with momentum after knocking off Kansas’ alumni team in convincing fashion.
