Pamela Gwinnett, 63, has been arrested after arriving back in Manchester from Tenerife, in a case centred on claims that an 89-year-old woman was defrauded of £300,000. The arrest came as Gwinnett returned to the UK after spending time on the Spanish island.
The case involves Joan Green, 89, from Chorley in Lancashire. According to the details available, Gwinnett had been on bail and was due to face trial over allegations linked to the loss of hundreds of thousands of pounds from the elderly woman.
Reports say Gwinnett left for Tenerife in April 2025 while still awaiting court proceedings. Her return to Britain led to her being met by officers and taken into custody as she touched down in Manchester.
The case has drawn attention because of the large sum involved and the age of the alleged victim. Authorities are now moving ahead with the next legal steps as Gwinnett faces the UK justice system following her return from Spain.
