Antares has secured $470 million in new financing as it pushes to deploy nuclear microreactors for the US military. The funding round comes just weeks after the company said its Mark-0 reactor reached criticality at Idaho National Laboratory, marking a key technical milestone for the startup.
According to the reported details, the Series C includes $370 million in equity and $100 million in debt. The round was co-led by Paradigm and Caffeinated Capital, giving Antares fresh capital to expand its reactor plans and move closer to military deployment.
The company’s stated goal is to place microreactors on US military bases by 2028. That timeline highlights how quickly Antares is trying to turn recent reactor progress into operational systems, especially as interest grows in compact nuclear power for remote and mission-critical sites.
The combination of a successful financing round and a reactor reaching criticality puts Antares in a stronger position within the emerging microreactor market. With nearly half a billion dollars raised, the startup is now better funded to advance its technology and pursue defense-related energy projects in the United States.
