Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it destroyed two drone hangars and a fuel storage facility at a US-operated base in Kuwait, escalating tensions around the wider US-Iran confrontation. The claim was presented as part of Iranian military action targeting American assets in the region.
According to the Iranian account, the strike in Kuwait hit infrastructure tied to military aircraft and helicopters. The report also said a missile attack targeted Jordan’s al-Azraq airbase, broadening the scope of the claimed operations beyond Kuwait.
US Central Command pushed back on those assertions. It said no American aircraft were damaged in the incidents and rejected the reported claims about losses at the facilities mentioned by Iran.
The sharply different versions from Tehran and Washington leave the situation unclear. What is evident is that Kuwait and Jordan have been drawn into the latest round of competing military claims, with both sides presenting very different accounts of what happened at the US-linked bases.
