Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation said it has begun mass production of compact microcontrollers in its TXZ+ Family Entry-Class M4L Group. The new devices are built around an Arm Cortex-M4 core and are aimed at single-motor control applications.
The announcement highlights demand from developers working on next-generation home appliances and industrial equipment. Toshiba says the compact microcontrollers are designed to support these systems with dedicated hardware functions that can help speed product development.
Security is also a key part of the launch. According to the company, the chips include security-related functions alongside motor-control capabilities, positioning them for equipment makers that need both performance and protection in smaller designs.
