Russia launched a new large-scale air attack on Ukraine overnight, firing dozens of missiles and hundreds of drones, according to the report. The strikes killed nine people, including children, in the latest wave of attacks to hit the country.
The assault underlined the continuing pressure on Ukraine’s air defences as Russia keeps up long-range missile and drone operations. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said delays in the delivery of air defence supplies were affecting Ukraine’s ability to respond to such attacks.
The report said the bombardment took place overnight into Thursday, with Kyiv again facing the wider challenge of protecting cities and civilians from repeated aerial strikes. Large barrages combining missiles and drones have remained a central feature of the war.
The latest deaths add to the civilian toll from the conflict and highlight Ukraine’s repeated calls for faster military support, especially equipment designed to intercept incoming air attacks.
