Heavy rain in Ranchi caused severe waterlogging across several parts of the city, leaving roads submerged and affecting movement in multiple areas. A bridge was also reported to be under water as the downpour created widespread civic disruption.
The situation highlighted the impact of intense rainfall on urban infrastructure, with low-lying stretches appearing to be among the worst affected. Residents in impacted neighborhoods faced difficulties as water accumulated on key routes and public spaces.
In response, Ranchi Municipal Corporation deployed teams to deal with the waterlogging and monitor conditions in affected areas. The civic body also asked residents to report local problems through its helpline, 1800-570-1235, as response efforts continued.
The heavy rain episode has once again drawn attention to drainage and monsoon preparedness in Ranchi. With waterlogging reported from many city areas, the focus remains on clearing flooded stretches and restoring normal conditions.
