According to the reported details, the studio has until December to make deals with the principal talent tied to the project. Until those agreements are in place, the sequel’s path forward appears uncertain.
The update suggests that a return to Barbieland is not yet locked in, even after the original movie became one of the most talked-about releases of 2023. At this stage, the sequel remains dependent on Warner Bros reaching terms with the people most closely associated with the film’s success.
