AAP has started an outreach effort in Punjab as the sanitation workers' strike continues, with party MLAs stepping in to engage during the standoff. The move comes as pressure remains on the state government to resolve the disruption and bring negotiations to a close.
According to the party's position, the Bhagwant Mann government has already agreed in principle to some of the workers' main demands. Those include regularisation issues and wage hikes, two of the central points raised during the strike.
Even so, the dispute has not yet been fully settled. Talks are still pending, which suggests that while there has been movement on key demands, the final understanding between the government and sanitation workers has not been completed.
The outreach by AAP lawmakers appears aimed at keeping communication open and reinforcing the government's claim that progress has been made. Until the pending talks produce a formal resolution, however, the sanitation strike in Punjab remains an active political and administrative challenge.
