Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday presented the Lokmanya Tilak National Award to National Security Advisor Ajit Doval at a ceremony in Pune. The honour was given in recognition of Doval’s role and contribution to India’s national security.
The award was conferred at an event organised in Pune, with the Lokmanya Tilak Smarak Trust selecting Doval for the distinction. The ceremony brought national attention to Doval’s long-standing position in India’s security establishment and the significance of the award named after Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak.
The presentation by Amit Shah highlighted the government’s emphasis on national security and the importance attached to public service in that field. Ajit Doval, who serves as India’s National Security Advisor, received the award as one of the country’s most prominent officials in strategic and security matters.
During his Pune visit, Shah also paid tributes as part of the occasion. The event combined remembrance of Lokmanya Tilak’s legacy with recognition of a contemporary figure honoured for service to the nation.
