Kyle Kirkwood will lead the field to green at Nashville Superspeedway after taking pole in qualifying for the IndyCar Music City Grand Prix. His two-lap average of 196.852 mph was enough to secure the top starting spot as the lineup was set for Sunday’s race.
Kirkwood’s run put him just ahead of Nashville’s Josef Newgarden, who qualified second. With those two drivers at the front, the race is set up with a strong pairing on the first row for the latest stop in the 2026 NTT IndyCar Series season.
Qualifying also brought a setback for David Malukas. He did not make a qualifying attempt after a crash in practice earlier in the day, leaving him out of the session as the starting order was finalized.
The Nashville event continues the IndyCar schedule with the field now locked in for the Music City Grand Prix. Kirkwood enters race day with the advantage of starting from pole, while Newgarden will line up alongside him looking to challenge early.
