Former Tennessee guard Zakai Zeigler is closing one chapter and preparing for another. Before leaving for Germany's Basketball Bundesliga, Zeigler returned to Knoxville to host his second annual youth camp on Aug. 1, using part of his final day in town to give back to a community that remains central to his story.
The update comes as Zeigler looks back on his NBA Summer League experience and considers what comes next in his career. After building his reputation at Tennessee, he now appears focused on turning that momentum into his next professional opportunity overseas.
His visit also highlighted how strong his ties remain to Tennessee basketball and to Knoxville. Even as his playing career moves beyond college and into an international league, the former Vols guard used his time at home to reconnect with young players and the city where he became a familiar name.
Zeigler turns 24 on Aug. 2 and is expected to spend that day traveling to Germany. The move signals a new stage for the former Tennessee standout, following Summer League action and another offseason moment that kept him closely linked to the Knoxville community.
