A political controversy has broken out in New Delhi after the BJP and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad objected to a protest inside the Parliament House complex linked to donations for the Ram temple. The parties accused Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Independent MP Pappu Yadav of insulting Hindu beliefs through what they described as a skit.
According to the dispute, the demonstration focused on alleged embezzlement connected to Ram temple donations. The BJP and VHP said raising the issue in that manner crossed a line and hurt religious sentiments, turning the protest into a larger debate about faith and political conduct inside Parliament.
Pappu Yadav, however, defended his stand and said the protest was meant to "protect Sanatan." His response shifted the argument from the method of protest to its stated purpose, with the controversy quickly taking on a sharper political tone.
The row has now become another flashpoint between the opposition and the ruling side, with the Ram temple remaining a highly sensitive subject in national politics. As reactions continue, the dispute is being framed both as a question of accountability over donations and as a matter of respect for Hindu sentiment.
