Residents in Navi Mumbai have raised objections to CIDCO’s seasonal ban on entering Kharghar hill during the monsoon, saying the policy is being applied unevenly. The protest centers on claims that ordinary citizens are being kept out while certain groups are still being allowed access.
According to the allegations, people linked to marathon events and politically connected groups have been permitted to enter the area despite the broader restriction. That has led protesters to accuse CIDCO of using different rules for different people, turning what should be a uniform public policy into a controversy over fairness.
The issue has drawn attention because Kharghar hill is a well-known local spot, and any restriction on public entry affects regular visitors as well as residents nearby. Protesters argue that if safety is the reason for the monsoon ban, then the rule should apply equally to everyone rather than making exceptions for selected groups.
The dispute has now become a larger civic debate in Navi Mumbai about transparency, equal access and how public authorities enforce local restrictions.
