Railway authorities in Kochi have busted an interstate gang accused of carrying out thefts on trains, according to the RPF. The operation was conducted jointly by the Railway Protection Force and the Government Railway Police, leading to the arrest of two men from West Bengal.
Officials said the group allegedly used a minor while committing the crimes, a detail that has added to the seriousness of the case. The arrests suggest investigators were tracking a wider pattern of theft linked to train travel rather than a single isolated incident.
As part of the crackdown, police recovered 14 mobile phones said to be worth around Rs 5 lakh. The seizure is expected to help investigators connect the suspects to reported thefts and identify possible victims.
