Russian authorities say a large Ukrainian drone assault targeted several areas of the country, with the heaviest reported damage in Saratov region. Officials said two civilians were killed and several other people were injured during the strikes.
According to the regional account shared by Governor Roman Busargin, drones hit residential buildings in Saratov region, a part of central Russia. The description of the attack also said a Wildberries logistics hub was struck, pointing to damage beyond apartment blocks and other civilian sites.
The reported toll came as authorities said more than 600 drones were involved in the wider attack on Russia. While full details of all the targets were not immediately clear, the scale described by officials suggests one of the larger drone waves reported in recent months.
Emergency response and damage assessments were continuing after the strikes, and casualty figures could change as more information emerges. The incident marks another sharp escalation in the long-range drone campaign linked to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
