Smart has teased its upcoming #2 city car through a series of murals placed in locations around the world. The model is positioned as the electric successor to the much-loved Fortwo, marking a return to the compact urban-car roots associated with the brand.
The #2 is expected to be revealed in full at the Paris motor show. Smart has not yet shown the complete car, but the mural campaign has effectively confirmed the name and highlighted the model’s city-focused role in the range.
The new electric car is due next year and is expected to become the UK’s smallest electric car. Its arrival will give Smart a much smaller model to complement its broader electric-car line-up, reviving the compact format that made the Fortwo distinctive.
