Kansas basketball’s Late Night in the Phog is set for a different format this year in Lawrence. Instead of one shared showcase for the school’s men’s and women’s programs, the event will take on a new structure as both teams move into separate appearances.
According to the early outline, those events will be held alongside exhibition games. That marks a notable shift for one of Kansas basketball’s best-known preseason traditions and changes how fans will see the two programs begin the new season.
Men’s coach Bill Self has addressed the new-look Late Night in the Phog as part of the buildup to Kansas’ upcoming campaign. While the overall concept remains tied to introducing the season, the revised setup puts more focus on each program individually rather than combining everything into one night.
