Xiaomi has expanded the Redmi K Pad 2 lineup with a new configuration that pairs 16GB of RAM with 256GB of storage. The compact tablet first launched in April 2026, but this memory and storage option was not part of the original release.
The Redmi K Pad 2 is positioned as a compact flagship-style tablet and is aimed at buyers looking for an alternative to Apple’s iPad mini. It uses a performance-focused MediaTek processor and features an 8.8-inch display, making it small by tablet standards even if it is not quite as compact as the iPad mini A15.
One of the device’s standout features is its 165Hz display, which suggests Xiaomi is targeting users who want a smoother experience for gaming, scrolling and general use. The addition of a higher-memory model also gives buyers another option if they want more headroom for multitasking and app-heavy workloads.
For now, Xiaomi has not announced when this newly added Redmi K Pad 2 version will reach markets outside its initial launch region. That leaves the tablet’s broader availability unclear, even as the company continues to widen the choices for its latest small-form Android rival to the iPad mini.
