Kia is expanding its EV2 lineup with a new Long Range version that boosts the small electric model’s driving distance to as much as 281 miles. The update gives buyers a larger-battery option as the company continues to widen its entry-level electric vehicle offering in Europe.

The EV2 had already gone on sale earlier this year in the UK and other European markets, and the latest addition gives customers more choice depending on how much range they want from the compact EV. Alongside the longer-range model, Kia is also introducing new trim choices, including GT and Black-Line versions.

While the headline change is the larger battery and improved range figure, the added trims suggest Kia is also aiming to broaden the EV2’s appeal beyond affordability alone. That could help the model attract drivers looking for either a sportier look or a more distinct styling package within the same vehicle line.

With the EV2 Long Range now available, Kia is strengthening its position in the growing market for smaller electric SUVs. The combination of a higher range rating and fresh trim options gives the model a wider spread across price, style and everyday usability.
