Delhi Police has said that no permission was either requested or granted for CJP’s proposed march to Parliament. The clarification comes amid discussion around the group’s planned 'Chalo Sansad' program and related public messaging.
According to the police position, restrictions under Section 163 of the BNSS are in force, limiting such activity in the area. Officials also indicated that protest gatherings are permitted only at Jantar Mantar and only after the required approval is obtained.
The issue drew attention as CJP circulated a list of do’s and don’ts linked to the planned march. The development also coincides with continued focus on Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike, which has kept the wider protest campaign in the spotlight.
The police clarification underscores that any demonstration or march in central Delhi must follow the applicable legal process and venue rules. For now, authorities have made it clear that there is no approval for a march to Parliament under the current restrictions.
