Former minister P Moorthy has rejected allegations made by minister CTR Nirmal Kumar over alleged corruption in registration matters. Responding to the claims, Moorthy said the charges are unfounded and challenged Nirmal Kumar to produce evidence if any illegal documents were involved.
The dispute appears to be linked to the ongoing Pazhani land row, which has become the latest flashpoint in the political exchange between the two leaders. Moorthy’s response centers on the demand for proof, framing the issue as one that should be settled by verifiable records rather than accusation.
Moorthy also pointed to an increase in revenue during his tenure to counter suggestions of wrongdoing. By citing higher collections, he sought to argue that the functioning of the department did not support the allegation of graft in registrations.
